Solukhhumbu Treks & Expedition offers one of the most exciting and picturesque Mt. Himlung Expeditions a mountain at the height of 7,126 meters / 23, 380 ft high, located in the remote areas of Manang valley above Nar-Phu region in the country of Blue Sheep and Snow Leopard.


A fascinating peak to climb where high experience and challenge requires truly a mountain for hard core adventurer and mountaineers, the top offering fabulous views of high and massif North Mid West Himalayan peaks hardly seen by other trekkers.


Mt. Himlung, located around north of Annapurna Himalaya close to Damodar and Manaslu region, a perfect peak of above 7,126 meters of highly technical and physical challenge to conquer the peak top.
 
Walk leads after a long exciting drive from Kathmandu on passing Lamjung areas of Bhesisar town and towards Manang region at Dharapani village. From here walking past several nice traditional farm villages of Bagachap-Danaque to Koto on the famous popular Annapurna circuit route, and then leaving the main trekking trail heading to remote and forgotten areas of Nar-Phu villages.
 
Throughout the walk spectacular views of Annapurna II-III and IV with Gangapurna-Chulus-Pisang peaks including Damodar Himal range, and then walking in the river gorge then entering a wide valley at Phu village an interesting villages with impressive monastery and culture.
 
Phu village of strong Tibetan culture and religion after exploring this interesting nature withered village of Phu, then heading towards our main goal and highlight at Mt. Himlung base camp, the climb is done after much preparation with rest day for proper acclimatization.
 
After enough rest and climbing practices with good exercise heading higher to Advance Base Camp at 5,450 m /17,880 ft, Camp 1 at 6,000 m /19,685 ft) and Camp II at 6,350 m /(20,833 ft) making the route more approachable to the summit top, after a great safe climb  with the support of our expert team of guides, return journey on the same route to Dharapani for another long and interesting drive back to Kathmandu.
 
Mt. Himlung expedition’s offers wonderful views with traditional and cultural villages on popular Annapurna circuit route, and then off the mainstream trekking trail for many weeks in complete wilderness in the harmony of nature and undisturbed areas of Nar & Phu.
Day 01:       Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 02-03:  In Kathmandu half day sightseeing tour and trek preparations.
Day 04:       Drive to Chamje 1,560 m via Bhesisar 823m - 08 hrs journey.
Day 05:       Trek to Dharapani 1,860m - 05hrs.
Day 06:       Trek to Koto 2, 600m - 05 hrs.
Day 07:       Trek to Meta 3,560 m - 06 hrs.
Day 08:       Trek to Kyang 4,100m - 06 hrs.
Day 09:       Trek to Phu 4,580m   05 hrs.
Day 10:       Exploration day in Phu visit Samdu Choling and Tashi Monastery.
Day 11:       Trek to Himlung base camp 4,540 m - 04 hours.
Day 12:       Rest and acclimatization day at Himlung base camp.
Day 13-22: Climbing period for 10 days setting maximum of 3 high camps.
Day 23:       Return to base camp.

Day 01:            Meet in Kathmandu after arrival from international flight.
Rendezvous in Kathmandu where you will be joined with other members of the trekking team on reaching respective hotels, our guide or group leader will brief information regarding Mt. Himlung Expeditions and trekking with do’s and don’ts.
Day 02-03:      In Kathmandu tour and preparation for Manaslu expeditions.
Two days in Kathmandu for Himlung expeditions preparations packing and buying necessary equipments and high altitude foods, final meeting and collecting permits and other documents related with the expeditions. On this day interested people can book for a tour around Kathmandu at places of interest, Kathmandu valley steeped with historical / cultural monuments and world heritage sites.
Day 04:            Drive to Chamje 1,560 m - 08 hrs journey.
This amazing trip Annapurna circuit starts with morning drive towards Nepal mid west with mountain scenery, journey leads to Beshsishar town then on the dirt road to Khudi, Bhulbhule and Ngadi following the Marsyangdi River upstream, the drive continues through rice terraces fields and villages to Syange, from here with a slow climb leaving the Marsyangdi River behind for few days then reaching the first overnight stop at Chamje after Jagat village, a farm village with many lodges to take care the needs of the travelers.
 
Day 05:            Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m - 05 hours.
From this village walk leads to a gradual winding path to Chamje, after this village back to Marsyangdi River crossing towards east bank and then through a thick forest, with superb views of majestic Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges, then on the wide path all the way to a nice village at Tal Besi, after a break here another few hours walk reaches to Dharapani village for overnight stop, this village situated on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trek.
 
Day 06:       Trek to Koto 2,600m - 05 hrs.
From Dharapani onwards the vegetation, landscapes changes the air also gets cooler, the trail climb through forests to reach at Bagarchhap, a typical Tibetan architecture houses. After a pleasant cool morning walk as altitude gains, heading towards Dhanaqi around alpine areas and then passing farm, orchards and beautiful pine forest with views of towering peaks of Lamjung and Annapurna II, the trail follows the river Marysangdi upstream passing by the villages of Tiplang and to Koto before Chame.
Day 07:       Trek to Meta 3,560 m - 06 hrs.
Today walk leads towards north around isolated areas away from main trekking trail of Annapurna circuit, walk leads into a gorge between Pisang Peak and Kangguru Himal the trail follows upstream Nar-Phu khola passing number of small scattered farm huts and sheds till Meta or Methang is reached for the overnight stop.
Day 08:       Trek to Kyang 4,100m - 06 hrs.
On this most remote country walk continues further north towards Phu areas as the walk leads to pure wilderness with chances of seeing some wild-life like Blue sheep and Snow Leopard around this area.
Our pleasant scenic walk follows Phu khola (stream) upstream till Kyang for overnight stop after a hard good walks of over six hours.
Day 09:       Trek to Phu 4,580m - 05 hrs.
Today walk continues leading to the last village of this adventure at Phu after following Phu khola upstream, walk leads to an open area where valley opens up after a few hours of good scenic walks around summer pasture lands to Phu village for overnight stop.
Day 10:       At Phu tour of Samdu Choling and Tashi Monastery.
At Phu free and leisure day for short hike around this unique little Shangri-la visit the Tashilkhang and Samdu choling Monastery and Kyauchyu water fall.
Day 11:       Trek to Himlung base camp 4,540 m - 04 hours.
Today a short trek to reach at Himlung base camp, morning walk leads with views of mountains and in complete wilderness of high above Manang valley and Phu areas.
A few hours of walk hike brings you at Himlung Base Camp for overnight stop and for the classic adventure climb, afternoon rest and practice climbing our expert guide will instruct and brief regarding some climbing techniques and skills required for the climb to the top summit of Himlung.
 
Day 12:            Rest and acclimatization day at Himlung base camp.
At base camp for proper acclimatization and preparation for the climb, here our climbing guide and leader will instruct and teach you some climbing techniques and skills, sharing all the knowledge for the successful and safe climb.
 
Day 13-22:      Climbing period for 10 days setting maximum of 3 high camps.
These 10 days where you will be engrossed and busy preparing for the hard technical climb which is truly a mountaineering expeditions experience.
During this few days ferrying loads and gears to higher camps to make the climb to the summit more effective and accessible.
 
On this climb where you need some days staying at advance camp till weather improves, weather around high Himalaya is the main factor for the climb.
This classic high skill climb where one has to be mentally and physically strong, the climb is technical and quite challenging than other mountains.
 
Camp I situated at an elevation of 6,000 m /19,685 ft and Camp II at 6,350 m /20,833 ft on the southeast ridge, and from here might need oxygen to reach the summit, after crossing two camps and spending couples of nights. Depending on weather condition for the ascent to Himlung summit, finally reaching on top of the peak spending some time enjoying marvelous view of high Himalaya range and then descend back to Advance base camp and unto base camp.
 
Descend is technically more difficult than climb up to the summit, however it not as much difficult like other major expeditions mountains but you might face some challenges like low level of temperature and low atmospheric pressure after being in high altitude for many days.
 
Day 23:            Return to base camp.
Today where all members and climbing guides and staff should reach at base camp safely after a great climb to the summit of Mt. Himlung, on route descend bringing all camping gear of other high camps at base camp.
 
Day 24:            Clean up the Base Camp.
After a great tough climb here at base camp where everyone should be in good physical conditions, this day cleaning up the garbage / litters and then packing equipments.
Solukhumbu Treks and Expedition with Government help and support committed reducing pollution around the mountains and on trekking trails also, as we do have responsibility towards Mother Nature. So clean up the base camp which will be a help reducing the impacts of global warming, then pack up necessary stuff and prepare for return journey.

Day 25:            Trek back to Phu valley.
From today onwards same route back with long descend to Phu valley, few hours of pleasant walk brings you at Phu for overnight stop.
 
Day 26:            Trek to Kyang 3, 020 m - 05 hours.
Today with much downhill with chances of spotting some wildlife as the walk descend downstream of Phu Khola all the way to Kyang for overnight stop, with enough time in the afternoon for short hike around.
 
Day 27:            Trek to Dharmasala - 05 hours.
The trail first gently descends leading to a deep river gorge, after crossing a bridge over Phu-khola (stream) walk along river bank. A few hours of trek brings to a small settlement of Dharmashala for last overnight stop around Nar-Phu area.
 
Day 28:            Trek to Koto - 05 hours.
Leaving Dharmasala continue trek to Koto with complete new experience  and feeling high spirit after a successful tough climb, walk leads to warmer area as the altitude drops with change in vegetations and into tree lines, a few hours walk brings to Koto for overnight stop.
 
Day 29:            Trek to Dharapani - 05 hours.
Today trek downhill to Dharapani village following nice trail which passes through village Timang which is a vantage view point of Mt. Manaslu 8,163 m /26,781ft and has best lodges and hotels. This region is also rich in its age old culture, from Timang, walk for few hours along the mule track through forest of rhododendron, fir, pine, oak and maple to reach Dharapani for overnight stop and concluding the trekking journey.
 
Day 30:            Drive to Kathmandu via Bhesisar 830 m 06 hrs journey.
After a last breakfast of this great trip board on a vehicle for the drive to Kathmandu following the narrow dirt road and Marysangdi River downstream after few hours’ drive passing villages and towns of Syange, Bulbule, Khude and Bhesisar a large town and headquarter of Lamjung district, from here another hour reaches to Dumre joining Pokhara-Kathmandu highway and then an interesting drive back to Kathmandu, after a great experience in complete wilderness and mountains.
 
Day 31:            In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour.
A free day with optional sightseeing tour in our interesting cultural tour of Kathmandu valley with world heritage sites, however some of them been damaged from recent earthquake.
The  tour of holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath ( Little Tibet), Swayambhunath ( Monkey Temple) & monasteries, ancient Kings Palaces and courtyard in Kathmandu; after an interesting sightseeing back to the hotel, afternoon free at leisure for individual activities.
This day also to submit reports of the expeditions at concern Nepal Government Tourism department.
Day 32:            International departure for home ward bound.
After a great memorable time and experience on Mt. Himlung Expeditions with Solukhumbu Treks & Expedition, depart from the hotel to the airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
