Mt. Manaslu at 8,163 m, Ganesh Himal Ganesh Himal (7,405 m) Langtang Lirung (7,234 m)  Ghengu Liru(Langtang II 6571m / 21,560ft), Kimshun (6,745m/22,137ft) and Shalbachum(6,918m / 22,699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh forms a ridge of peaks which includes Naya-Kanga (5,846m) and Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak. Beyond it extends to the Jugal Himal, terminating in Dorje Lakpa (6,980m/22,929ft). To the east the upper meadows of the Langtang end in a massive mountain wall, forming the frontier with Tibet.
 
Langtang Valley & Tamang Heritage Trail one of the most unique region due to its scenic and cultural traditional villages with breathtaking scenery, as the walk leads from the picturesque village of Syabrubesi, the trek is moderate with steep uphill for few days, where all types of travelers can join in this wonderful walking journey and the time duration taking less than week in the comfort of warm cozy lodge or home stay and tea houses along the route. 
 
Langtang Valley & Tamang Heritage Trail trekking one of the most interesting and fascinating journey leading from warm subtropical, mediterranean of mid hills to alpine climate zone, all these drastic change in temperature found only around southern Langtang Himalaya region, this makes a drastic change in vegetations and its awesome scenery.
 
This trek leads through many traditional Tamang villages famous for culture and Buddhist religion and as well for mountain and trekking guides they are also well known for making unique wooden handcrafts and Thanka painting.
 
This remarkable trek starts from Syabrubesi and into enchanting forest of rhododendron, oaks and pines tree lines where the rare red panda, snow leopard roams with other wild life in this beautiful Himalayan environment.
 
After a great time at Langtang Valley around Kyanjin Gompa and hike to Tsego-Ri with panorama of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh, Langtang to Jugal Himal mountain range, journey back via an alternative route to holy Gosainkund with its serene crystal glacial pond and then a long descend following the ridge line near Helambu at Kutumsang and Gul-Bhanjyang to Chisopani and then with a gradual scenic walk to Dhunche town, and then return back to Kathmandu for your international flight after a memorable time with Solukhumbu Treks & Expedition trekking around magnificent trek Langtang Valley & Tamang Heritage Trail.

LANGTANG NATIONAL PARK AREA ( 1,710 SQ.KMS.)

LOCATION: Situated in the Central Himalaya, Langtang is the nearest park from Kathmandu. The area extends from 32 km north of Kathmandu to the Nepal - China (Tibet) border.
 
FEATURES: Langtang National Park encloses the catchments of two major river systems: one draining west into the Trisuli River and the other east to the Sun Koshi river.
 
Some fo the best examples of graded climate conditions in the Central Himalaya are found here. The complex topography and geography together with the varied climatic patterns have enabled a wide spectrum of vegetation type to be established. These include small areas of subtropical forest (below 1000 m), temperate oak and pine forests at mid-elevation, with alpine scrub and grasses giving way to bare rocks and snow.
 
Oaks, chir pine, maple, fir, blue pine, hemlock, spruce and various species of rhododendron make up the main forest species.
 
Along with the existing forest cover, approx. 25 % of the total area provides habitat for a wide range of animals including wild dog, red panda, pika, munt jack, musk deer, Himalayan black bear, Himalayan Thar, goral, serow, rhesus monkey and common languor.
 
The Trisuli-Bhote Koshi forms an important route for birds on spring and autumn migration between India and Tibet.
 
About 45 villages ( 846 house-holds = ca. 4500 people) are situated within the park boundaries, but they are not under park jurisdiction. In total, about 3000 households (ca. 16,200 people) depend on the park resources for wood and firewood.
 
Culturally the area is mixed, the home of several ethnic groups which have influenced the natural environment over the centuries.

Day 01:           Meet in Kathmandu after arrival from international flight.
Rendezvous in Kathmandu where you will be joined with other members of the trekking team on reaching respective hotels, our guide or group leader will brief information regarding your trekking with do’s and don’ts.
 
Day 02:           In Kathmandu with cultural tour at places of interest.
As per the time set for sightseeing tour, our city guide will meet in the morning after breakfast  and then depart hotel for few hours in our interesting cultural tour of heritage sites as Kathmandu valley is full of world heritage sites, however some of them been damaged from recent earthquake.
 
The  tour of holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath ( Little Tibet), Swayambhunath ( Monkey Temple) & monasteries, ancient Kings Palaces and courtyard in Kathmandu; after an interesting sightseeing back to the hotel, afternoon free at leisure for Langtang Valley & Tamang Heritage Trail trek preparation.
 
Day 03:           Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460 m - 07 hrs journey.
Starting this wonderful journey driving towards North West of Kathmandu passing interesting villages and towns with fabulous scenery of hills, farm terraces and snow capped peaks after the warm area reaching to cooler region at Langtang National Park entrance in Dhunche 1950 meters, the one and the only major town of Rasuwa district and Langtang area, inhabited mostly of Tamang ethnic tribes throughout the area of this trekking.
 
 From here heading downhill for another 2 hours to the fist overnight stop in  Langtang area at Syabrubesi the gateway to Langtang, Ganesh and into Tamang Heritage Trail and as well to the Tibet border at Kyarong just 2 hrs of driving distance from this village.
 
Day 04:           Trek to Gatlang 2,200 m - 05 hrs.
From Syabrubesi, starting the first day walk of this trip on the gentle winding uphill trail walking on the main motor road for short time and avoiding the main road on the old trekking trail leading to Goljung village, with super views of Ganesh and Langtang Himal, after Goljung village a nice walk with short ups and down path to a large spread out Tamang village at Gatlang for overnight atop in of its few fine and cozy Home Stay cottage and huts.
 
Gatlang village with an old monastery where visitors are welcomed with strong smile and Khada silk scarf of Buddhist religion, culture, afternoon visit the local monastery and make friends with the villagers.
 
Day 05:           Trek to Tatopani 2,607 m - 06 hrs.
After a nice time and hospitality in Gatlang morning walk leads to a short descend close to newly built Chilime Hydropower project at River Chilime.
From here walk leads to cross a suspension bridge over Chilime River which flows from Tibet, and with an uphill for few hours till Tatopani village is reached for overnight stop, Tatopani meaning Hot Water, this village with natural hot spring nearby. Afternoon free at leisure and dip in the hot spring pool which is refreshing
and cure of many disease.
 
Day 06:           Trek to Thuman 2,400 m via Nagthali - 06 hrs.
Morning after a refreshing time in Tatopani and with spectacular views of Ganesh Himal, starting morning walk with a climb into dense forest of rhododendron, pines, magnolia and oaks tree lines to reach at Nagthali Danda, a fantastic view point at Nagthali Danda over looking panorama of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal and array of adjoin peaks, after a great time with the views heading downhill to our next overnight stop at Thuman village another nice village with farm life and old culture.
 
Day 07:           Trek to Briddim 2,345 m - 06 hrs.
From Thuman village, morning walk begins with a descend to river Trisuli, looking over the trail to Tibet in the far distance, after crossing a river with a long downhill to our overnight stop at Briddim. This is another pretty farm village with old monastery, afternoon visit this old monastery treasures many historical artifacts along with the tall statue of Sakyamuni Buddha and of Guru Ringboche “Padmasamba” with time to explore the village of Briddim.
 
Day 08:           Trek to Lama Hotel 2, 350 m - 05 hrs.
After Briddim village with great interesting time, walk from here leads to downhill back to Trisuli River after passing Khangjim village and close to Syabrubesi village, starting with 2-3 hours climb and then on the good trail passing farm fields and terraces, walk continues arriving at River side lodge located on the junction to Upper or Thulo Syabru and trail to Langtang valley joins, our overnight stop will be in the middle of forest at Lama Hotel.
 
Day 09:           Trek to Langtang village 3, 307m via Ghoretabela - 06 hrs.
Morning walk heads higher up through the river gorge  in the middle of enchanting woodlands of tall trees of pines, rhododendron and following the river upstream passing few houses and cattle herders shelters and then to more cooler place at Ghoretabela for lunch break in beautiful forest surrounding with few lodges around. From here another 2-3 hours of good walk and the leaving the tree lines behind reaching at Langtang village for overnight stop, the last village before Kyanjin. Here explore this interesting village of Tamang and Bhotias people of Tibetan origin with similar life style of Tibet religion and culture.
 
Day 10:           Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,749 m - 04 hrs.
After a wonderful stop in this last village, while other up are temporary settlement of yak herders and lodge to serve the trekkers, moving on the winding up trail and then the gorge opens to a wide beautiful valley with awesome views of snow capped peaks that lines this Langtang valley, walking on encountering few prayer or mani walls and then reaching our first destination of this trip at Kyanjin Gomba for two nights in this lovely valley surrounded by many peaks around with Langtang Lirung glacier just close by from the lodges and a cheese processing factory established some 35 years ago with help of Swiss assistance.
 
Day 11:           Rest day at Kyanjin for acclimatization and hikes.
A perfect spot for rest day to acclimatize at this high altitude before our next higher journey to Gosainkund and beyond, here many places for short hike and climb like to the hill top of Tsego and Kyanjin ri at over 4,000 meters top for better panorama of surrounding mountains.

From view point hill overlooking at Langtang Himal, beyond which lies Tibet. The major peaks include Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6571m / 21,560ft),  Langtang Lirung  (7,425m / 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft) and Shalbachum (6,918m / 22,699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh forms a ridge of peaks which includes Naya-Kanga 5,846m and Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak.

Beyond it continues to the Jugal Himal, ending with Dorje Lakpa (6,980m / 22,929ft), extending further east on the upper meadows of the Langtang range ends in a huge and massive mountain wall, forming the border with Tibet.
 
Day 12:           Trek back to Lama Hotel 2, 350m - 07 hrs.
Morning catching the last view of this wonderful surrounding and high snow capped mountains in amazing Langtang valley, then heading downhill for another adventure on route Kathmandu, walk leads on the same route till Lama Hotel after a long descend with few short ups in between the walks.


Day 13:           Trek to Upper (Thulo) Syabru village 2,118m - 06 hrs.
From Lama Hotel our journey leads to alternative route towards Upper Syabru also called as Thulo Syabru, morning walk a short downhill to Riverside and Bamboo area with small lodge, teahouses in the middles of rhododendron, oaks and bamboo forests, after short rest here walk continues leading  uphill to the ridge of Upper Syabru passing few farm lands and a big landslide section and then to Thulo Syabru village where the traditional Tamang houses are linked together like a long locomotive with beautiful carved windows and doors, this village with 6-8 good lodges and a monastery above the village.
 
Day 14:           Trek to Singh Gomba / Chandanbari 3,254 m - 05 hrs.
After this nice village walk leads to more climb through enchanting dense forest of lovely rhododendron, oaks and pine trees with views of Langtang and Ganesh Himal and as far towards west peaks of Manaslu and Annapurna Himalaya, although a steep climb but interesting walking into this beautiful forest where more than 10 varieties of rhododendron species exists around this thick woodlands, passing summer pasture  and shades of cattle herders and then on the pleasant winding trail to Singh Gomba / Chandanbari village with cheese factory and an old monastery at the top of the village.
 
Day 15:           Trek to Dhunche town 1,950 m - 05 hrs.
From Shing Gompa, after having a nice rest and amazing views today the last walk of this beautiful journey, morning trek leads on the long downhill slope through enchanting forest full of rhododendron and pine trees passing several Sheppard’s shelter and grazing and pasture land reaching at the base of the long hill of Shing village, stopping here for a while and then reaching the main motor road for a while and with short up to Dhunche town for last overnight stop in this high hills of Langtang area.
 
Day 16:           Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
After a remarkable and awesome trekking, morning after breakfast a nice interesting drive following the downhill winding road to Kathmandu passing many farm villages and towns of Kalikathan, Trisuli Bazaar and the back to hustle, bustle of city life of Kathmandu and then check into respective hotels.
 
Day 17:           International departure for home ward bound.
After a great memorable time and experience with Solukhumbu Treks & Expedition, depart from the hotel to the airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
