Machhapuchhre ‘Fish-Tail’ 6,997 m and the closets Mardi Himal at 5,587 meters high
Mardi Himal and Other Sanctuary one of the least and slowly getting popular and trekking region due to its accessibility from the picturesque touristic city at Pokhara the trek and climb is moderate to adventurous where all types of strong trekkers and adventurer can join in this wonderful trek and climb, the time duration taking just 10 days in the comfort of camping facilities during trek and climbing period. 
Mardi Himal and Other Sanctuary trek and climb one of the least visited destination leading from warm subtropical, mediterranean of mid hills to arctic landscapes and climate zone, all these drastic change in temperature found only in Annapurna Himalaya range, this makes a drastic change in vegetations and its awesome scenery.
This trek leads through many traditional Gurung villages famous as Gorkha soldiers in foreign legion of British, Indian, Singapore and Brunei as gallantry soldiers.
This remarkable trek starts and ends in the scenic valley at Pokhara city where the high snow capped peaks reflects in its serene lake Phewa.
We have allowed rest day for proper acclimatization so that every member in the group can summit Mardi Himal at 5,587 meters high, on leaving Mardi base camp to set up High Camp for the adventurous climb of Mardi Himal the trail leads by ice, rocks and glacier to set up camp before the climb to the summit, while the climb is straight forward with quite technical difficulty in some section, for the climb use of ice and crampons with ice axe are necessary in the entire climb, our expert guide who will fix ropes for safety around necessary and in technical sections.
From the summit awesome panorama of Annapurna Sanctuary, with Mt. Annapurna’s I, II, III and IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome as far to Mt. Dhaulagiri, Tilicho and Manaslu and mountain range in the distance.
After a great moment and climb of Mardi Himal and at Other Sanctuary journey back on the same trail to Lwang with vast tea garden beneath the towering Machhapuchhre peak, then a long descend following the river Mardi near to Pokhara then with a gradual scenic drive back to Pokhara and then return back to Kathmandu for your international flight after a memorable time with Solukhumbu Treks & Expedition trekking and climb of magnificent Mardi Himal & Other Sanctuary.
 
Outline Itinerary:
Day 01:           Meet in Kathmandu after arrival from international flight.
Day 02:           In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 03:           Fly or drive to Pokhara and transfer to hotel near Phewa lake.
Day 04:           Drive and trek to Dhiprung 1,675m via Mardipul - 05 hrs.
Day 05:           Trek to Simre Kharka 2,400 m - 06 hrs.
Day 06:           Trek to Khorchon 3,682 m - 05 hrs.
Day 07:           Rest day at Khorchon for local exploration and acclimatization.
Day 08:           Trek to Mardi Base Camp 4,100m - 04 hrs
Day 09:           At Base Camp for acclimatization and preparation for the climb.
Day 10:           Trek and climb to High Camp at 4,650m / 15,256ft - 03 hrs.
Day 11:           Climbing Day and return to Base Camp.
Day 12:           Trek all the way to Kumai 2,460 m - 07 hrs.
Day 13:           Trek all the way to Lwang village 1,230 m - 05 hrs.
Day 14:           Trek and drive to Pokhara.
Day 15:           Drive or fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.
Day 16:           International departure homeward bound.

POKHARA VALLEY:

Pokhara is one of the most unique sub-tropical valley in the Himalaya and probably in the world, where one can marvel the beauty of the Himalayan landscape  and reflection of the Annapurna massif including the towering majestic peak of Mt. Machhapuchhre on its beautiful lakes.. Pokhara is situated in the mid western Nepal. It is linked by the main highway of 200 km driving distance from Kathmandu, and by air approximately 20 to 30 minutes flight with a sweeping panoramic views of the mid east to western Himalayan ranges.
 
Mother Nature has certainly blessed this fertile valley with outstanding scenery of the landscapes, snow capped mountains, moderate tropical climate, and beautiful pristine lakes of Begnas, Rupa and Phewa.
The most stunning of Pokhara’ sights are the magnificent panorama of the Annapurna range which forms its backdrop. Annapurna massif includes Annapurna I to IV and Annapurna South.
Among these high peaks it is the towering majestic Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail) which dominates all others in this range. Pokhara with its natural beauty is also a starting point of Nepal's most popular adventure destinations. Most of the trekking, mountaineering expeditions begins from this remarkable place and it's a also an ideal spot for all types of holiday makers.

Day 01:           Meet in Kathmandu after arrival from international flight.
Rendezvous in Kathmandu where you will be joined with other members of the trekking team on reaching respective hotels, our guide or group leader will brief information regarding your trekking with do’s and don’ts.
Day 02:           In Kathmandu with cultural tour at places of interest.
As per the time set for sightseeing tour, our city guide will meet in the morning after breakfast  and then depart hotel for few hours in our interesting cultural tour of heritage sites as Kathmandu valley is full of world heritage sites, however some of them been damaged from recent earthquake.
The  tour of holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath ( Little Tibet), Swayambhunath ( Monkey Temple) & monasteries, ancient Kings Palaces and courtyard in Kathmandu; after an interesting sightseeing back to the hotel, afternoon free at leisure for Mardi Himal & Other Sanctuary trek and climb preparation.
 
Day 03:           Drive to Pokhara 950m - 06 hrs journey distance 220 k.m.
Morning travel by tourist coach or in private vehicle over the busy scenic highway towards amazing picturesque Pokhara valley driving through the Himalayan foothills, on arrival at Pokhara transfer to respective hotels nearby beautiful Phewa Lake with afternoon free for short walks. For flying option a 30 minutes of scenic flight to Pokhara on arrival our staff will transfer you to respective hotels by the Phewa Lake side with afternoon at leisure.
Day 04:           Drive and trek to Dhiprung 1,675m via Mardipul - 05 hrs.
After breakfast 30 minutes drive reaches you at the outskirt of Pokhara near Mardipul, from here walk leads downhill near the bridge at Mardipul after crossing the river by suspension bridge the walk leads on the gradual path for few hours passing through farm villages and fields and climbing towards Ghacok village a large Gurung village from here another hour reaches you at Dhiprang by the hot spring for the overnight camp.
 
Day 05:           Trek to Simre Kharka 2,400 m - 06 hrs.
After enjoying the hot spring at Dhiprung walk leads towards along the ridgeline, careful of the false trails that can lead you array! After being in the hot semi-tropic climate of the low area after few hours of walk on the ridge welcome by the cool mountain breeze and air with stunning panorama of Mt.Machhapuchare at 6,997m to the west view of Annapurna I and South with Huinchuli to the east are the views of the granite mass of Annapurna IV -II and Lamjung Himal and leaving the forest area then reaching to a fine camping area at Simre-Kharka near Kumai.
 
Day 06:           Trek to Khorchon 3,682 m  - 05 hrs.
From this lovely spot, walk leads towards the ridgeline on the uphill path with some steep climb and reaching at Khorchon on the grazing pasture land for the overnight stop after a hard steep climb.
 
Day 07:           Rest Day at Khorchon for acclimatization and local hike.
A necessary rest day for acclamatsation and to pull back the strength from the previous day steep climb to here at Khorchon, a short hike around can be done here as this area is less trekked.
 
Day 08:           Trek to Mardi Base Camp 4,100 m - 04 hrs.
The trail from here leads to another steep climb along the ridgeline to a hidden plateau beneath the South Face of Mardi Himal and the South-West Ridge of Mt. Machhapuchhre; this is also known as the 'Other Sanctuary' so called by Jimmy Roberts when he first discovered this area in the early 1970's, overnight stop and as Base Camp for the climb.
 
Day 09:           At Base Camp for acclimatization and preparation for the climb.
Another necessary rest day for acclamatsation and to explore around this area, as well preparation for the great climb to the summit of Mardi Himal, with grand view of the surrounding landscapes and snow capped peaks.

Day 10:           Trek and climb to High Camp at 4,650m / 15,256 ft - 03 hrs.
From the base camp ascend slowly on the steep path towards the col between the East Face of Mardi Himal and the connecting ridge of Mt. Machhapuchhre, high camp is placed at near 4,650 meters.
 
Day 11:           Climbing Day and return to Base Camp.
Early morning before dawn climb to reach a snow couloir leading to the col with a steep section of 45 degrees, at the col further steep snow slopes leads to the summit of Mardi Himal, a panoramic views can be seen from the very top of all the giant snow capped mountains and deep valleys towards Pokhara, after a wonderful time here descend back to Base Camp
 
Day 12:           Trek all the way to Kumai – 07 hrs.
Retrace the journey back to Kumai with downhill walk all the way.
 
Day 13:           Trek all the way to Lwang village.
Trek back to Mardipul via Lwang village a nice place with home stay and vast Tea Garden beneath the towering Machhapuchhre peak, her in the comfort of local home stay.
 
Day 14:           Trek and drive to Pokhara.
A short walk of 40 minutes brings you at the road head for the drive back to Pokhara, last hour walk an easy descend to Mardipul village on the road head that connects Baglung-Pokhara, from here an hour drive back to Pokhara after a wonderful time up in the high mountains.
Day 15:           Drive of fly back to Kathmandu.
Morning a scenic drive to Kathmandu, after a wonderful memorable trip in the high mountains of Annapurna area,  then on reaching Kathmandu transfer to respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure. (Again with options to fly back to Kathmandu our staff will transfer you to Pokhara domestic airport for 30 minutes scenic flight to Kathmandu, on reaching Kathmandu meet our staff and then transfer back to respective hotels).
Day 16:           International departure for home ward bound.
After a great memorable time and experience with Solukhumbu Treks & Expedition, depart from the hotel to the airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
