North of Kanchenjunga one of the fascinating and adventurous trek with a traverse of high passes crossing Lumba Sumba la 5,160m.

North of Kanchenjunga adventure starts with a flight to south eastern Nepal, close to India border at Bhadrapur, Jhapa and then drive towards the alpine area and vast tea gardens of Ilam, to reach at Sukhetar with a small airstrip in Tumlingtar on the warm sub-tropic area on the shelf of Kabili Khola River, this awesome trek concludes at Num on route Makalu with a drive to Tumlingtar for the flight to Kathmandu.

This trek is moderate in the beginning and to adventurous where all types of travelers can join in this wonderful walking journey and the time duration taking just a little less than three weeks in the comfort of warm cozy camping along the route.

North of Kanchenjunga is least visited destination as it is located in the Far North East Himalaya of Khumbakarna range of mountains east to Everest and Makalu range and North of Kanchenjunga, one of the most unique journeys leading from mediterranean of mid hills to arctic landscapes and climate zone, all these drastic change in temperature found only in the high valleys and mountains of high hills and valleys of southern Himalaya area with dramatic change in vegetations and its awesome scenery.

This trek leads through many traditional Rai, Bhotias and Sherpa villages famous as mountaineers and warm hospitality and has been a high altitude porters and guides since last five decades.

This remarkable trek starts from Sukehtar after the drive through Ilam and flight from Kathmandu at Bhadrapur, Sukhetar at Taplejung town the gateway to Kanchenjunga and eastern Tibet area and then over to amazing Holung / Walungchung – Gola 3,200 m with rest day at Walangchung – Gola visiting the local culture which is similar to Tibetans and the border at mere distance from this amazing highland village, and then heading higher to to cross Lumba Sumba pass with tremendous views overlooking top world’s highest peaks from Everest, Lhotse, Makalu to Khumbukarna range of mountains to reach our destination at world’s 3rd highest Kanchenjunga and then slowly ending this beautiful and awesome trekking via an alternative route towards Gola and Num with a drive towards Tumlingtar for the scenic sweeping short flight back to Kathmandu for your international flight after a memorable time with Solukhumbu Treks & Expedition  North of Kanchenjunga.
